Description
(North to South) |
This route is a mix of public roads, beach & forest walking.
From the village of Turakina, walk 400m north on SH3 and turn left/west into Turakina Beach Rd. Follow it for 8.5 kms to the small beach settlement of Koitiata.
Walk south around the lagoon and dunes to the beach and head south for 8kms. Just before the unsigned site of the Fusilier wreck (marked on topo maps), turn off the beach. Follow the forest road which lead SE for 5 kms until reaching the junction with Santoft Rd (just south of the small settlement of Santoft).
Head south on Santoft Rd for approx 60m, then east on a forest track. Follow it SE for 5kms until it merges with Brandon Hall Rd. Follow it for 8 kms.
At the junction, turn left/NE into Parewanui Rd and follow it for 1.5kms into the centre of Bulls township (and the junction of SH1 & SH3. |
