New Te Araroa Website - 20 December 2012
Te Araroa heads into 2013 with a new look website, reflecting the constant evolution and growth in awareness of Te Araroa.
The website introduces more colour and imagery, letting pictures tell the story of Te araroa's journey through the greatest New Zealand landscapes.
For walkers, a regionalised structure offers options for different levels of walking - trail pages now have downloadable notes and maps and for through/section walkers each region has a full regional set of trail notes and "atlas" of maps that can be downloaded as single documents.
New to the site is a Te Araroa Kids Club page, with the key feature being a Certificate Generator for all the younger Te Araroa walkers to record their achievement - and
pester encourage Mum and Dad to go out and do their next one!
In 2013, this TA Kids Club will be full of puzzles, activities and challenges so the next generation of walkers can build their knowledge of Te Araroa.
Te Araroa Trust extends its thanks to Richard Bowles, who just this week became the first person to run Te Araroa, for the generous donation of the spectacular imagery used in the new site. Alice Smith also allowed use of her excellent Waiau Pass photograph. Te Araroa also thanks web developers Tin Soldier who continue to provide valued support and advice on the Te Araroa website.
We welcome "iconic" Te Araroa photographs (such as those used on the new website) from any Te Araroa fans and followers who wish to submit them - please email to firstname.lastname@example.org - high resolution shots please, and we will only utilise for the website unless we seek further permissions.
