(North to South) |
Follow Waingaro Road east across the railway line and on to the Great South Road (main thoroughfare south). Follow it 100m south and turn east into Jesmond Street (Ngaruawahia's main commercial area). Keep walking east to join up with the Waikato Esplanade Road & follow it southwards along the banks of the Waikato River.
After 1 km, you will be forced off the esplanade as it is yet to be developed further for walkers. In the meantime, you will need to walk suburban back roads - North St/Thomas St/Croall Cres - and then join SH1 for 7kms. You will finally be able to leave SH1 by turning SE into Pukete Rd for the final 2 kms. |
