Nurse runs across New Zealand, smashing Te Araroa trail record
Brooke Thomas set a new record for running the Te Araroa trail, arriving in Bluff on Friday night.
Thomas completed the trail, that runs from Cape Reinga down to Bluff, with a time of 57 days and 10 hours - the fastest known time for a female runner.
Lucy Clarke had previously held the woman’s record with a time of 66 days, 7 hours and 8 minutes. Thomas said it was pretty cool to spend the last 7km along Bluff by herself and reflect on the journey.
