Te Araroa is the greatest long walk in New Zealand. So much so, that CNN and National Geographic rated Te Araroa as up there with the top long walks of the world, for its scenic beauty and unique ability to connect walkers with NZ communities, cultures and historic sites.
But Te Araroa is asking for YOUR help to continue to provide and maintain access to our country's most scenic spots .
Te Araroa's trails connect with Department of Conservation tracks, Council paths and beach walks to collectively form New Zealand's national walking trail, traversing 3,000 kilometres of stunning scenery as it winds its way from Cape Reinga in the far north to Bluff at the bottom of the South Island.
And the beauty of Te Araroa is that it can parts can be enjoyed as a fantastic day walk or as a series of multiday walks - if you are not up to 3000km in one stint.
We are dependent on the support of our generous donors, sponsors and partners- agencies such as the Department of Conservation, New Zealand Transport Agency and New Zealand Walking Access Commission. Otherwise maintaining and sustaining our fantastic trail for the walking public to enjoy would simply not be possible.
Te Araroa is managed by a not-for-profit Te Araroa Trust. Contributions from donors like yourself go towards signage, maintaining and developing infrastructure and tracks on parts of the trail outside public conservation land, and managing stakeholder relationships.
Unlike some NZ Trails Te Araroa does not get ongoing direct funding from Government. We are dependant for survival on the support provided by our partners, donors and sponsors and.
Every dollar makes a difference. Support the Trust today so that you can enjoy the Trail tomorrow, either one day at a time, or all 3000km!
