The new walk will go across this high ridge with views east to Wenderholm
and Tiritiri Matangi Island - if you happen to be looking east.

Work began Friday, July 7, on a new Te Araroa track, between Moirs Hill and Puhoi. A three-person gang is expected to complete the new 5-kilometre section by mid-August. En route it will pass through what's already a well-known attraction in the area, Dunn's Bush. The walk will take three hours, with great views across to Wenderholm, and the upper Hauraki Gulf. It will be part also of the 50-km Puhoi to Pakiri section now under development. The new trail is being financed by ASB Trusts.

Puhoi farmer Arthur Dunn tests a new stile. An easement Arthur put in across the back of his farm gives legal access for the trail across 3 km of its 5 km length. When open, the new track will cross the western margin of the QEII National Trust covenanted 'Dunn's Bush', visible behind.
