Whanganui Journey Closure
The Whanganui Journey Great Walk is closed until further notice due to confirmed Covid-19 exposure.
A DOC and iwi monitoring team will undertake monitoring access at Whakahoro, Ngahuinga and Ohinepane and Papriki. They will be advising people about the closure.
All visitors coming off the river are encouraged to head directly to the nearest testing stations in either Raetihi or Whanganui and isolate as required.
The Mangapurua/Kaiwhakauka Track and Bridge to Nowhere Track and facilities remain open.
DOC will look to reopen the Journey when it is safe to do so. Please check the Department of Conservation website for updates.
