Te Araroa offers spectacular trout fishing opportunities across much of its journey.

Often these rivers and lakes are well-populated with large fish that will readily take a fly or spinner. This means that novice and experienced anglers can enjoy some of the world’s best trout fishing.

If you want to fish on your journey you need to buy a fishing licence. Fish and Game sell licences online and local sports stores sell them over the counter. Fish and Game’s website also contains information on fishing regulations, techniques, recipes and locations.
